The centrifugal pump is widely used in the chemical industry of petrochemical, coal chemical industry, to transport different properties of liquids to provide the pressure and flow of chemical reactions. There are many types of centrifugal pumps. According to the differents conveying medium, it can be divided into acid pumps, alkaline pumps, water pumps, mud pumps, slurry pump etc. The working temperature and work pressure of the conveying medium are different. Therefore, extend the centrifugal pump working time, reduce the maintenance times will be important on improving the economic benefits of the factory.

1. Selection and installation of centrifugal pumps

The centrifugal pump should be selected based on the fluid type, the performance, inlet & discharge conditions, whether intermittent operation or continuous operation. The centrifugal pump should run under the pressure and capacity of the manufacturer’s design. The following review should be performed when installing the pump:

  • Basic size, location, and elevation should meet the design requirements. The anchor bolts must be properly and correctly fixed in the concrete foundation. The pump should not be lack of any parts, damanged or rust etc.
  • According to the transported fluid type, check the main parts, sealing parts and pads.
  • All pipes connected to the pump body, the installation of the pipeline, and the cleaning requirements of lubricating oil pipes shall meet the requirements of relevant national standards.

 

2. Use of centrifugal pump

The trial start of the pump should meet the following requirements:

The engine working direction should be the same as the the pump;

Check the direction of the pipeline pump and the centrifugal pump;

There should be no loosening parts of each fixed connection part, put suitable lubricant in the lubrication parts based on the documents.

The parts with pre -lubrication requirements shall be lubricated in accordance with requirements.

Each indicator instrument, safety protection devices should be sensitive, accurate, reliable;

Set the connection device that eliminates the effects of temperature rise, and set the bypass connection device to provide cooling water sources.

Pay attention to the following points when the centrifugal pump operation:

Do not work without water, do not adjust the population to reduce the displacement, and prohibit running under too low flow;

Monitor the operation process, completely prevent the leakage of the filler box, and use a new filler when replacing the filler box;

Make sure that the mechanical seal has full rinse water flow, and the water -cold bearing is prohibited from using excessive water flow;

Do not use too much lubricant

Check it according to the recommended cycle. Establish operating records, including running hours, adjustment and replacement of fillers, adding lubricants and other maintenance measures and time. Pumping and discharge pressure, flow, losing power, the temperature of the washing and bearing of the solution,bearing temperature and the vibration of the centrifugal pump should be regularly measured.
